From product R&D to marketing and everything in-between, it is vital that each investment you make yields maximum value and returns. While many companies were forced to cut marketing expenditures a year ago, the reality most businesses now face is that they must invest in marketing to have a chance at rebuilding sales and growth.
We strongly believe in creating maximum value for our clients by helping you right-size your POS marketing orders, value-engineering products to hit a certain price point and by providing sell sheets to help you get your products in market. However, there is more you can do to get the most out of your POS marketing investment! Here are just a few things we have seen clients do that can make a big splash!
BEFORE YOU ORDER...
1. Have your customers help with the design selection!
Oftentimes, our clients will have a couple different product options designed and quoted, such as two different product types or artwork and shape changes. Instead of selecting what you like best, why not let your customers decide?
For example, we designed two metal tacker signs for Temblor Brewing Company, who posted them to social and had followers vote on which they liked best! This is an excellent way to engage with your customers and get insight into what they like best!

2. Drive hype with a giveaway promotion!
Once you have final designs and have placed your order, you can build up hype for the arrival of your new POS marketing products by having a giveaway promotion of the new sign, display, etc. Whether it’s a survey they fill out to enter or an incentive like “1 free entry for each 6-pack you buy,” giveaways are a great way to get maximum engagement with your customers, especially when it’s for an exclusive product like a sign.

3. Have a photo contest!
You’ve received your products and they are now placed in accounts throughout your distribution network. They’re doing their job, creating visibility for your brand and influencing purchase behavior. But did you know their influence can go beyond that?
An effective way to do this is to have a promotion that encourages customers to take pictures of your signs and displays in market, post them to social media and tag you to be entered to win a prize. The prize could be anything from free beer, signs, experiences, etc. It also doesn’t have to be a one-time thing. You could have seasonal promotion periods with different hashtags to get people posting about you year-round!
A great example of this comes from the folks at Upslope Brewing Company. We worked with them to create an LED Light Panel sign that says “Après Headquarters,” which they placed in key accounts throughout Colorado, Wyoming and Arizona. They then had a #ApresHQ promotion encouraging fans to post pictures of the sign along with other “adventure pics”. What a fun way to increase visibility and engage with customers!


4. Use them in social media posts!
Finally, many of our clients will have a few signs or displays in their brewery, store or office. They not only look great, but they make an excellent backdrop for social posts! For example, instead of just posting a shot of your new pilsner, you can use your neon sign to command attention and add some additional branding to the shot.
